In order to provide the best service for you and your children, Kidzcare makes a number of pledges regarding the service we provide. We also request a few from you in return.
In order to help your child adapt well to their new centre, Kidzcare implement a Buddy System to make them feel welcome and help them settle in. Having an older child has proved to help the younger years join in with the group and take part in a wider range of activities. The programme also helps to encourage the older child as they progress through the club. Overseeing this programme and all the children is a strong team, who are available to talk to you about any concerns you may have about your child. If you feel there is anything your child may benefit from to help with this welcoming process, please feel free to inform a member of your child’s team and we will try to accommodate your requests wherever possible.
As the staff are at the core of any Kidzcare centre, making sure they are well trained is one of our primary concerns. All staff receive comprehensive Health & Safety and Child Protection training. We also provide a number of opportunities for further training throughout their time working with us to help to provide a higher level of care. On top of this Kidzcare can offer financial support for a variety of training to try and encourage our employees to obtain more formal qualifications such as first aid and other relevant studies.
While your child is attending with us, we aim to do everything possible to make sure you feel safe in the knowledge that they are in a secure and protected environment. One of the most important aspects of this is the mandatory PVG (previously Disclosure) check we carry out on all employees prior to them starting work.
Confidentiality is another key aspect of the service we provide. Any conversation regarding your child between yourself and a member of staff is treated with the utmost confidence. We strive to maintain an open, friendly and professional relationship with all of our parents, to help create an environment in which any issues, queries or feedback can be discussed.
In order to protect every child at Kidzcare, we cannot allow any form of bullying, racism or foul language to be tolerated towards children or staff in our centres. Kidzcare therefore follows a number of steps to promote positive behaviour. This includes: encouraging staff and child interaction, which builds confidence and encourages different ways of thinking; working with parents to promote positive behaviour and to deal with difficult behaviour; implementing policies and codes of conduct, as well as encouraging children to take responsibility for their actions. This range of steps in addition to our secure, confidential environment helps create a centre free of bullying, discrimination and abuse.
One of the key pledges we ask of you in this partnership is that you ensure your child is collected on time from the centre whether it be an After School Club, summer Playscheme or nursery. This is to ensure that our staff have adequate time to clean the centre and finish on time. Moreover, we are not insured beyond set collection times.
We understand that things can change throughout the day which may affect your normal routine, such as who will be collecting your child, or attendance on in-service days. We also understand that factors such as varying work commitments may affect, among other things, your preference of days your child attends. We ask that you keep us informed of any changes or special arrangements that you require at the earliest opportunity, so that we are in the best position to accommodate you. Please note that there is a minimum notice period for changes or cancellations of sessions; this varies depending on the service, so please refer to our terms and conditions and ask the manager of your service for more information if unsure.
Keeping us informed also ties in with hearing all your feedback about the service we provide, whether this is through our annual survey given to staff, parents and children, or if it is an enquiry that you raise with a manager. The more you update us with any changes, queries or requests you have, the better we will be able to help.
Finally, in order to make the most of the service for children, staff and you, we ask for mutual respect and that you adhere to the pledges as stated. It is our belief that encouraging an open and secure relationship between Kidzcare and our parents will lead to the highest possible standard of care for your children, and best service to you.
